Expressing an outrage over pro-Khalistan slogans, a group of Hindu activists on Friday attacked the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI)'s Jagtar Singh Hawara inside a court premises in Chandigarh.
The incident occurred while Hawara and his associate Paramjit Singh Bheroa were being brought to the district court in Sector 17. They are facing trial in the Burail Jail break case.
When Hawara crossed the main gate of the court, a right wing activist named as Nishant Sharma attacked him and tried to push him. However, Hawara stepped back and slapped Sharma in return.
Seven activists were taken into custody for attacking the terrorist. They are said to be the members of Akhail Bhartiya Hindu Suraksha Samiti (ABHSS).
However, Hawara is safe and he did not receive any injury in the incident.
